About

We are parents, carers and friends of New Hinksey C.E. Primary School raising much needed funds for the school as well as providing fun and enriching experiences for the children throughout the year such as the hugely successful school disco.

Last year we raised almost £10,000! The money raised by the school association not only pays for extras such as museum trips and classroom equipment, but also contributes a vital £3,000 a year towards the school’s running costs. Over recent years the School Association has lost some momentum – our hope is to build on what we have achieved and do more, but we need your help!

Getting Involved

The School Association is run very informally. Anyone can get involved in any event. However, we do currently need to recruit a chairperson (preferably two co-chairs), a secretary and at least two more general positions on the committee. Get in touch If you’d like to know more.

Generally, we work on an event-by-event basis with groups set-up to organise each one. If there’s something that you would like to be involved with just let us know—it doesn’t mean you have to help with the next one! We’d also really appreciate any fresh ideas for future events or fundraising opportunities if you have them too.

Other ways to help:

  • Contribute financially using Localgiving(search Localgiving for ‘New Hinksey School Association’). Here you can set up a monthly direct debit, or a one-off donation, with the option of gift aid. This can be a great way for grandparents to get involved. £3,000 of last year’s total came from Localgiving alone! Other parents have undertaken sponsored events (half marathons, triathlons etc.) to raise money for us via Localgiving or organised their own fundraising for a particular cause within the school.
  • Shop using EasyFundraising to raise free donations for the school when you buy online through masses of retailers such as Amazon, Argos, Next, M&S and the Trainline. Get friends and family on board as well.
  • Or do you work for a company that may want to sponsor a NHSA event? Would they be able to donate a prize for one of our raffles? Let us know!
  • Can you sell raffle tickets to your friends, family, neighbours and co-workers? Last year the Summer raffle raised nearly £1,000 and the Christmas raffle also contributed substantially to school funds.
